Well, let me get specific here.
As thrilling as it was to see Charlie Sheen capsize the PR machine a couple weeks ago, I admit I got caught up in the moment. You always take a chance that the moment can’t sustain itself. And despite a really great, obviously self-aware Funny Or Die video, which proves he’s in on his own joke — well, that was pretty directed and channeled by others. Can’t say

I admit it took me a night to get the joke, but I attribute that to the sheer rush and quick turnover of the 24-hour news cycle and the dizziness it can play on one’s value judgments, but I get it now, and that’s all that matters. And in those 24 hours, I’ve gone from thinking that Charlie Sheen’s Tour O’ Audacity has gone from being a pending tragedy, to maybe being a Casey Affleck documentary,

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Kanye West
(Roc-A-Fella Records)
Look, I didn’t want this to happen any more than you did.
The acclaim for this album is unanimous. I mistrust unanimity and always look for off-ramps whenever I see everybody going to the fairground for those funnel cakes. I was as tired of Kanye West as you were. I thought the Taylor Swift incident was boorish. I found his

I won’t bore you with the self-congratulating adulation. You don’t need an introduction. You have the facts. You have the stats. You know I’m money on this. I always take care of you Grammy bettors, all three of you. I won’t insult your intelligence.
However, there are a couple of you who are new friends to me, so for those of you who are familiar with my soothsaying powers, feel free to skip to

1. The Guitar Song, Jamey Johnson
Mainstream country music’s getting a little more ambitious lately - check out the latest albums by Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley and Lee Ann Womack for proof - but Jamey’s created the Songs In The Key Of Life of country music: An album that does not apologize for its scope, is perfectly executed, and reflects total assuredness over its lyrical

We’ve covered Raëlians before back in 2003 when they were cloning human girls. Wouldn’t you know they’re still around preparing for the Elohim to return and save us?
And hitting on indie film genius’s girlfriends??
“Our prophet would really like to meet you personally, because he was very taken by your presentation,” Lara told her.
Mia was psyched! She would get to meet the king himself! Lara led her up through Raël’s bodyguards to Raël.
Raël’s eyes widened and he smiled as she approached.
Raël couldn’t seem to process that, and continued to tell her how to get over her shyness, how he could help her with it, as he continued touching her.
Read the rest of Undercover Raëlians from ACE movie guy James Gunn. It’s a riot! We kind of secretly hope he does make a Raël movie after reading this!

No offense to Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin and all those yokums who descended on the Lincoln Memorial earlier today, but I really don’t want God back in this country. I don’t have any specific objection to God being anywhere, and I don’t mind if he takes over certain parts of this country. Mississippi, for example. He can have Mississippi. He could open up as many Steak and Shakes as he wants in

***** – This movie is required viewing. You should have already seen it. If you haven’t seen it by the time you solicit my opinion about it, then your scheduling system already needs to be reassessed. The mere question should never have been raised. You should have been supernaturally compelled to see this movie once post-production wrapped. Being a member of free society, you should choose to

Once back in the ’70s a British music producer was trying to line up musicians for a recording gig. He gets on the phone to the musicians’ union and says, "Yeah, I’m trying to get anybody who can play sort of traditional British folk-rock music for this singer I got. So if you have anybody down there who can play like Steeleye Span, make sure you get them down to my studio tomorrow at 9am sharp!
